From the Organizer: Recap of the Workplace Wellness Transformation Carnival 2025

As the Rotary Club of Admiralty, the organizer of the Workplace Wellness Transformation Initiative, we are thrilled to share a heartfelt recap of the Workplace Wellness Transformation Carnival held on September 7, 2025 (Sunday). This event was more than just a gathering—it was the first powerful step in our 2025 public health mission to empower 35–55-year-old sedentary working adults to break free from inactivity and embrace healthier lives.

From the moment the HKPA Hall (3/F, Fa Yuen Centre, Mong Kok) opened its doors at 10:00 AM to the final cheers at 12:30 PM, every corner of the venue buzzed with energy, hope, and a shared commitment to wellness—and we’re proud to bring this inspiring day to you.

The Ceremony: Unity in Action, Backed by Leaders Who Care

The carnival kicked off with a dynamic opening ceremony led by our beloved emcees, sports personality Liu Kin-kei (Ah Kei) and the charismatic Cheung Ling. Their warmth and passion set the tone: Ah Kei shared details of our core Workplace Wellness Transformation Program—24 weeks of flexible, post-work 90-minute training sessions designed to fit busy work schedules—while Cheung Ling highlighted that this initiative is “for every working adult who’s ever said ‘I don’t have time to exercise’.”

What made the ceremony truly special was the outpouring of support from Hong Kong’s most influential voices in health, sports, and education—partners who share our vision of a healthier workforce. We were honored to have Dr. Lam Man-kin, JP, Director of Health (Department of Health) deliver a keynote, emphasizing that “fighting sedentary lifestyles is not just a personal goal, but a public health priority for Hong Kong.”

We also took a moment to honor the partners who made this carnival (and our broader initiative) possible through a “Certificate of Appreciation” ceremony. We extended our sincere thanks to:

  • Government officials and legislators, including Legislators Chan Siu-hung, BBS, JP, and Lung Hon-man, for their policy support;
  • Academic powerhouses like HKU School of Public Health (represented by Prof. Bishai) and Hong Kong Academy of Nursing and Midwifery (represented by Sylvia Fung, BBS), for bringing scientific rigor to our wellness plans;
  • Sports experts from Hong Kong Sports Medicine and Sports Science Association (Dr. Ying Lo-ming), who ensure our training is safe and effective;
  • The “Big 5” Chambers of Commerce, for helping us reach more enterprises and workers.

The Highlights: World-Class Performances & Workouts That Inspired Action

After the ceremony, the hall came alive with two showstopping moments that turned “wellness” from a concept into something exciting and accessible.

So Wing-yi rope skipping performance

Rope Skipping Championship Performance

We were privileged to host So Wing-yi, Hong Kong’s rope skipping champion and a UJR World Rope Skipping Championships 2025 medalist (3 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze). Her 花式跳繩 (fancy rope skipping) performance left the crowd in awe.

Cheung Hoi-lam leading warm-up workout

Live Warm-Up Workout

Cheung Hoi-lam, a Sports Ambassador from the HK Sports Federation & Olympic Committee’s Athlete Employment and Education Department, led a live warm-up workout that got hundreds of attendees on their feet.

By the end of the workout, the hall was filled with grins—sweaty, but energized—and we knew: we’d just helped people take their first small step toward moving more.

The Interactive Zones: Practical Wellness for Every Working Adult

The real magic of the carnival, though, was in our six interactive zones—designed to answer the question every sedentary worker asks: “Where do I start?” Each zone offered hands-on, no-pressure experiences that turned uncertainty into confidence.

Foot Health Assessment

For workers who spend hours on their feet or suffer from heel pain, our experts provided free checks and tips on choosing supportive shoes.

Antioxidant Level Test

Using a bio-optical scanner, attendees saw their antioxidant levels in real time—and learned how even 20 minutes of daily walking can boost them.

Wellness Tech Showcase

Cutting-edge health assessment devices let attendees track their fitness baseline—no gym membership required.

Body Composition & Posture Check

Desk jobs often lead to poor posture and muscle loss, so our team used specialized tools to measure body composition and correct alignment.

Sit-and-Reach Test

A simple but effective way to check flexibility, this zone had groups competing playfully, cheering each other on.

Step Test

A low-impact challenge to measure cardiovascular fitness, this zone helped attendees see that “exercise” doesn’t mean marathons—just steady steps.

By 12:30 PM, when the carnival ended, nearly every attendee left with a takeaway: a workout plan, a stretch routine, a contact for a wellness expert, or even a new friend who shares their goal to get active. It was exactly what we hoped for: a day that didn’t just entertain, but empowered.

This Is Just the Beginning—Join Us in the Wellness Revolution

As the Rotary Club of Admiralty, we founded the Workplace Wellness Transformation Initiative because we believe every working adult deserves to be healthy, energized, and free from the pain of sedentary living. The carnival was our first step—but the real work (and the real rewards) are ahead.

Our 24-week training program is now open for enrollment: it includes professional coaching from sports experts, flexible post-work sessions, health assessments, and a supportive community of fellow workers. Whether you’re 35 or 55, a beginner or someone who used to exercise, this program is for you.
